What is Key Club?
Key Club is the high school organization sponsored by Kiwanis, and our main objective is to do everything we can to help our community and those in need. High school students apart of Key Club are capable of helping others through volunteering and service events such as park cleanups, food drives, serving food to the homeless, ect. In addition, we raise money for several charities to help them achieve their goals as well. Also, being apart of Key Club is an excellent way for students to learn leaderships skills and make many new friends!

Preferred Charities
The United Nations International Children's Emergency Fund, or UNICEF, is a program ran by the United Nations that provides assistance to children and mothers in developing countries. Some of the ways UNICEF helps children is by providing health care, immunizations, access to safe water and sanitation services, basic education, and protection. One of the main methods we use to raise money for UNICEF is through the Eliminate Project.

March of Dimes is a non-profit charity that's main objective is to improve the health of babies by preventing premature birth, birth defects, and infant mortality. This nation-wide program works to support families on a local level by helping mothers take charge of their health and supporting premature babies. Some events that we Key Clubbers have participated in to assist this organization are car washes, bake sales, and the March for babies.

Projects
The Eliminate ProjectUNICEF and Kiwanis International have teamed up to eliminate maternal and neonatal tetanus from the world. This disease takes the lives of approximately 60,000 babies every year as well as the lives of a significant amount of woman. To help end this disease members everywhere have been holding fundraisers to raise money for vaccines and to also increase public awareness.

Pediatric Trauma ProgramThe Pediatric Trauma Program is was made by our district, CNH, to educate and train people in the pediatric and injury prevention. This program was started since unintentional injury is the leading cause of death of children under 14 in the United States, and 90% of these injuries are preventable. Thus, PTP was formed to reduce the number of children who are killed or injured by trauma.

Officer Positions
The officers of a club are the members who are in charge of their school's Key Club and organize everything the club does. Club elections are held every year in February, however the term for the new officers does not start until April 1st (at the start of a new term all member/club hours are reset). Each officer must sign a contract that guarantees they will do at least 50 hours of service during their term.
President - The president of a club is the person who is in complete charge of the club. The president, without a doubt, is the most important officer since if a president does not fulfill their duties the whole club will suffer. The president is in charge of finding and organizing service events, trips, fundraisers, committees, contacting Kiwanis, getting information from the LTG (head of our division), holding meetings and making agendas for them, filling out paper work, helping ALL of the other officers with their jobs, and a lot more of tasks! Though this may not seem like a lot, the role of being president is one of great difficulty and responsibility and is recommended to only those who are truly dedicated to Key Club both volunteer and socially wise. Click here for more information on the jobs of the president.
Current President: Philip Gergis
President Elect: Junnelle Maala
Vice President - The vice president of the club is the person responsible for taking on the many tasks of the president that are delegated to them and, if the current president doesn't fulfill their duties or is temporarily/permanently unable of doing so, taking charge of the club. The vice president throughout the year's main job is to do whatever the president basically tells them to do, so depending on the president, this job could be anywhere from extremely east to dreadfully difficult. Practically all of the duties of the president is theirs as well, and even if they haven't been delegated a task, the vice president should be helping the president in any way they can. Also, though a typical club has only one president, if the board of officers agree on it they can get an additional vice president. Click here for more information on the jobs of the vice president.
Current Vice President: Junnelle Maala
Vice President Elect: Janina De Jesus
Treasurer - The treasurer of the club is in charge of managing the club's budget and helping the president plan fundraisers and with membership fees. During the start of the school year is the busiest time of the term for a treasurer, since they have to count multiple membership fees and get them all sent to Kiwanis International, and they have to make an invoice of all of the members for their term. Furthermore, they are in charge of buying supplies for any events the club is holding, and they will be reimbursed from the club budget for the money they had spent. Click here for more information on the jobs of the treasurer.
Current Treasurer: Brandon Saint-Milfort
Treasurer Elect: Jorgia Young
Secretary - The secretary of the club's job is to fill out the Monthly Report Form (MRF) with the president every month. The MRF is a spreadsheet with all the information on the club, including all of our members' contact information, how many hours our members and club have, all the events we have done, how much money we have raised, which members get awards at the end of the year, when we held meetings, and a summary of what our club did in the month which the division looks at to determine who gets club of the month. This job is EXTREMELY important since if it is not done then none of the work our members have done will get recorded, and therefore they have won't be able to use the work they've done for Key Club for college applications or scholarships. This is a job that is not to be procrastinated so it is recommended to people who will work on it progressively throughout the months. Click here for more information on the jobs of the secretary.
Current Secretary: Janina De Jesus
Secretary Elect: Alyssa De Jesus
Editor - The editor of the club is given the task of making monthly newsletters for what the club had done in that month and helping the president update the website. Newsletters are made to show the division and club what we have done in the past month by talking about the past volunteer events we went to, fundraisers we had, any new features of our club, trips we went on, articles from members, images of these things, and any other great little tidbits. Click here for more information on the jobs of the editor.
Current Editor: Jorgia Young
Editor Elect: Kaleb Valdez
Tech Editor - The tech editor of the club is the member in charge of managing our club's website and social media. They must make sure that our website is constantly up to date since it is a vital source of information for all of our members. Also, our social media must be updated to feature all of the latest events our club's been to and get people become interested in our club!
